The release of the Public Schools Project has prompted substantial media coverage and in many instances, lively discussion among individuals in our community.

The report has been covered by KNBC/Ch. 7, MSNBC, The Orange County Register, The Daily Pilot, The San Bernardino Sun, KFI, KFWB and numerous other media outlets.

The Daily Pilot, which covers the communities of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, devoted several news stories, columns, editorials and letters to the editor related to the reports release.

PPOSBC President & CEO Jon Dunn and Julissa Jose-Murray, Vice President of Public Affairs, discussed the state of comprehensive sex education on KOCE The Real Orange television show on June 11, 2008. The first time KOCE covered the report for its audience was on May 14, 2008, the day the report was released to the public.

The Community Action Fund of Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties will release the results of a sex education audit of textbooks and curricula across districts with high schools in Orange County. We are also unveiling this site! This website will provide information to parents regarding the sexual health education policies of each district, along with a list of comprehensive curricula available.

Young people need comprehensive sex education to maintain optimal health. The epidemic levels of STDs are dangerous to the future well being of our youth. Teens need to be armed with the most accurate and current prevention information available.
